Are you afraid of getting old?

What will you do when you are 72 year old to avoid being a burden to your family?

Are you afraid of getting old?

This is the fear of most folks. Have you ever wondered how your old age will be like?

Old age is what everyone prays for. You must learn to love yourself and be kind to yourself. But the question is, does all old persons enjoy their old age? The simple answer is yes and no. Excluding those that has one illness or the other.

It is yes when you discover that living itself is grace and find more reasons to be productive even when your family members try to over pamper you.

One way to conquer being dormant at old age is by having sound mind. Knowing that ageing is an attitude. Seeing yourself to be at the prime of your life because you still have a whole lot of things to do and lots of person to impact on. Have you ever considered taking a music class, going to gym and evening looking more beautiful than you ever have?

If you're 60 or 70, maybe retired or doesn't do anything anymore. Only being cared for by your children.

Are you afraid of getting old?

If yes, try out these:

Take a walk

Take a walk

Let no day pass by, without exercising your muscles, always take a walk. It's just a way of letting you keep fit both physically and mentally. Climbing stairs can work tremendously too.

Read books

Don't limit yourself. Explore more knowledge. Remember what defines what we think about are the books we read and the kind of people we spend time with. You already know that, what we think influences how we act.

Volunteer

Volunteer

Don't just fold your hands and wait for what life will throw at you. Get up from that couch and get busy.

Volunteer to speak to children and married couples at your church. Volunteer to teach in a school (some schools may even go as far as employing you as a part-time teacher).

Organize seminar for adolescents in your locality. On different topics such as how to become a better person, how to achieve your purpose on earth and so much more.

Of course, you can't do this alone. Your family members or friends may help you actualize this.

Teach a skill

Throughout your life journey, you have acquired a lot of skills. It may not be very obvious but a deep introspection will help you to discover that there are things you know that you would love to pass over to others.

You might be good in cake baking and other confectionary, sewing, crafting, braiding, writing, copywriting and public speaking.

Consider whether to teach teach skill at a cost or free.

Cook for your family

It is common for your family members to stop you from entering the kitchen. Don't accept it. Agree with them to give you a day in a week for making meal for them. Insist on that. They aren't going to say yes right away. However, they will enjoy it and grow fond of granny's cooking tricks.

You could employ old cooking methods you used to cook with longtime ago. I bet, you will be creating an indelible mark and memories for them.

Write a book

Why not write about your life journey. Your bestseller. Your autobiography. Isn't it interesting already?

You see, there are lots of things to keep you busy at your old age.

Go see a movie

Go to Cinema and view your favorite movies.

Try out some daring things you always wanted to do.

Wouldn't it be nice to release a music track at this point?

Other things you could do are dancing and acting.

Above all,

Eat healthy foods (eat more of bitter foods, cut back on fats sugary foods and other carbs).

Speak with your family members (those far away) over the phone often.

Forgive all your enemies.

Make Jesus your best friend.

Say your prayer always.
