Reasons you should start listening to music

Music is life

Music is life! I have heard this line over and over again. Ever imagined life without  sounds, beats, lyrics and rhythms?

Charles Darwin said, "If I had my life to live over again, I would make a rule to read some poetry and listen to some music at least once a week."

And you? What do you have to say about music?

For me, playing musical instruments is one thing I secretly wish I could do. I admire those who play it well. 

Listening to music is not just enjoyable, there are numerous reasons one should listen to music.

Start listening to music to be happy

How do you feel when you are singing your favorite song or listening to your favorite music? Happy or sad? 

Research showed singing one's favorite song results to the release of dopamine, a 'feel good' neurotransmitter.

Music improves health

Music had been known for this, since time immemorial. 
The Bible tells us that when King Saul was inflicted with a mental issue, David was called upon to sing and play musical instruments for him. The soothing effects of the music David played always revived King Saul.

What does this tell you. Music is therapeutic. 
It calms and soothes the soul. Music envelopes the despair with so much hope. 

Most mental patients have been revived with music.

Music reduces tension

Anytime I am under pressure, music had always been a last resort. It helps to calm my mind in a way that is indescribable. 

Do you always feel tensed or pressured to meet deadline? Listen to your favorite music, it sure going to do wonders.

Music helps you to sleep better




Do you know a lot of people suffer from insomnia. 
When last did you have a cool and peaceful night rest or siesta?

If you are having difficulty in sleeping, then it's high time you started listening to music and beats before sleeping.
Classical and some inspirational music could do wonders. 
No wonder Berthold Auerbach said "music washes away from the soul, the dust of everyday life."

Music reduces depression

According to Maya Angelou, " music was my refuge, I could crawl into the space between the notes and curl my back to loneliness."

Feeling depressed and forlorn? Listen to some classical music. Also, there are music that brings back old memories, right? Listen to such them. 

Don't die in pain or heartache. Music is there to share in your pains. When you have no one to confide in, please dear friend, run to music because it would gladly open it's hands to embrace you.

Start listening to music, good music. While some music are romantic, others are inspirational while a lot tell stories.

Listen to music base on your mood. How you feel should determine what kind of song to sing and music to listen to.

Music increases productivity

Are there things you wish you could accomplish but it seems impossible to do? It feels as though your head is empty and blacked out, devoid of any imaginations and ideas.
We all experience this. Are you a poet, novelist or a songwriter?

Go listen to unfamiliar music, any genres can actually do. 

Listening to unfamiliar music means your brain will creatively interpret the lyrics of the songs.
This creativity definitely, will in the same way be transferred in your work. Consequently, newer ideas are birthed. Hence, your riddles will be solved.
