Why do you go to church on Sundays?
This question sounds weird, right?
Instead of staying back and enjoying early morning sleep, you deny yourself sweet morning rest.
After the hustle-and-bustle of the week before. Most people chose to enter God's house first.
Do you ever feel it's not necessary to go to church? That it's better you stay at home and pray to God.
Why most people go to church
To keep the holy day of obligation holy
Christians especially Catholics see not going to Mass on Sunday as sin. As such, most of their members hadly miss Sunday mass.
To be seen as a Christian
What I would rather call a veil/cover. We live in a society where books are often not judged by its contents but its cover.
Hence, sociopaths and psychopaths might use church as a camourflage.
In addition, skipping Sunday service/mass is a no no go. As a result, most adolescents go to church to please their parents. And some adults, to be seen as a good christians.
To show off
Large number of my interviewees answered affirmative to this. "To show off new and nice-looking wears and cars."
To worship the king of Kings-our Dear Loving Jesus Christ
Is this not supposed to be our reason for going to church?
A small number of people genuinely goes to church to meet with the Lord.
His hands are always stretched out just waiting the same way mothers do when they want to embrace their children.
But what does Jesus see?
Distracted children! Uninterested little ones!
Whatever your reasons for going to church are, ensure they align well with God's Divine purpose for your life.
I recommend, going to God's house just for him alone. I mean, .... worshipping him in truth and in spirit (John 4 verse 24)
Happy Sunday lovelies.
