There has been much emphasis on the adverse health effect of fats. Most health practitioners have gone to the extent of advising their patients to reduce fat consumption while other patients with severe illnesses have been advised to quit fatty foods totally.
Are you in any of these categories? I’m here with good news.

But the question is, are fats really bad?
Are all fats what they are accused of?

What do you think?
Anyways some fats are what they are criticized? Examples include saturated, Trans and hydrogenated fats. These fats can be found in baked foods, fried foods, margarine and lots more.
But not all fats are bad?
There are whole lots of healthy and nutritious fats that do not only add mouth feel but are beneficial to the body.  They are polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats, these fats are present in mostly seeds and nut like cotton seed, safflower, peanut, avocado, corn, and most grains.

Best sources of healthy fats

Sunflower oil: 

This kind of oil is extracted from the seed of sunflower and contains a lot of vitamin E which makes it soothing to the skin.  It’s also acts as a moisturizer and anti-ageing cream.

In addition to its rich vitamin E content, it also contains monounsaturated fat and polyunsaturated fats.
This makes it good for the heart.  Sunflower oil does not contain saturated fats and cholesterol which are unhealthy to the heart.

This is similar to what we all known as canola oil, gotten from seeds that belong to similar family with mustard seed. The difference between canola and rapeseed is that canola oil is seen as culinary oil used for cooking and baking at home while rapeseed oil is an industrial oil used in commercial purposes.
Rapeseed oil contains vitamin K and E, polyunsaturated and monounsaturated with little saturated fats. It’s good source of alpha linoleic acid (ALA) a good source of omega 3 fat. ALA
is transformed into eicosapentaenoic  (EPA) necessary in formation of brain in infants.

   Nuts

Nuts contain high quantity of good fats, which are good source of energy. Fats in nuts can reduce insulin resistance hence prevent development of diabetes. These good fats promote good heart health.

Oil-rich fish
The oil in fish is good fat known as omega -3- fatty acids which is essential oil. The body does not make enough of this essential oil.  This essential oil helps to promote a healthy heart.  It promotes prenatal and postnatal neurological development.  Examples of such fishes include sardine, salmon and mackerel.

Soybean oil

Contains good fats which help to promote the formation of good cholesterol and reduce the formation of bad cholesterol. Consumption of soy bean oil can reduce development of certain bone diseases like osteoporosis. Soy bean oil is vitamins and antioxidants which scavenge free radicals causing diseases in the body. In addition, soybean oil contains polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fatty acids which have been reportedly shown to have little or no effects on weight gain.

Contains 10 to 15% saturated fats, 25 to 30% monounsaturated fat and 60% of polyunsaturated fat, the high content of PUF and MUF shows how healthy corn oil is.
