5 Foods to avoid if you want to lose weight

You might have learnt that overweight is linked with many health issues.
That's right.
Apart from that, some people just want to look good before the mirror and on dresses.
One can not achieve the goal of losing weight if you continue your lifestyle the way it has always been.
You've got to make some changes  in the way you diet and exercise.
The onus is on you to avoid certain food and eat some foods that do not really look appetizing but are nutritious.  Examples green leafy vegetables, some fruits, whole grains and so on.

Therefore to burn some calorie, you have to avoid the following foods at all cost.

1. Sugary foods

Sugary foods

These are foods which have high quantity of sugar in them both processed and natural sugar.
Sugary foods can make one add more weight because they are the major source of energy after fats.

After consumption and digestion of sugary foods, the body utilizes some portion of the assimilated food for energy production and the excess that was not used is stored in the body. This is usually stored around the visceral, belly, hips, upper arms, and under the skin.

How is this possible?

It's so because most people do little or no exercise. Also, the rate of sedentary lifestyle has risen over the years.
Average  American expend less energy than is stored.
In order words, the stored energy ( calories) is more than the used energy.
See other reasons to avoid sugary foods here.
Avoid these foods:
Pastries, candy bar, cookies,  soft drinks, cakes and lots more.

2. Refined  grains

Refined grains are grains  or flour modified from whole grains by mechanically removing the germ layer, bran layer and the seed coat / hull.
Refined  grains tend to lose most of its nutrients during the process of modification. They are inferior to whole grains.

Refined grains tend to have more carbohydrates, less fiber,  less nutrient than whole grains.

The high carbohydrate content and the less fiber content of this grain is its crime.

Carbohydrates are digested into simple units known as sugar which are assimilated into the body system.

In the body, refined grains are stored in similar way as sugary foods because the two have the same end product of digestion which is  simple sugar.
Avoid these foods: white bread, and refined grains like rice, wheat, maize  et cetera.

3. Bad fats

Bad fats and good fats

Fats are the number one source of energy in the body, supplying  9kcal/g of energy.
Well, fats are not outrightly unhealthy, of course not. There are lots of good fats which do not contribute to weight gain.

What you are advised to avoid is bad fats which are stored around the liver, heart and other organs, hips, and belly.

Be on the lookout for these set of fats;
Trans and hydrogenated fats as seen in baked foods, microwaved popcorn,  margarine, frozen pizza and fried foods,  chicken skins,  butter,  fatty meat among others.

4. Processed  foods

Processed foods flood the market shelves these days. They include all those food that have been altered chemically and mechanically in order to extend their shelf life.
Examples  are noodles, pastries,  soft drinks, alcoholic drinks, milled grains and lots more.

5. Sweeteners

Are chemical additives which are cheaper than sucrose but are less nutritious yet have diverse health implications.
Examples include aspartame, saccharine and acesulfame.

The truth is, it is not easy for one to avoid all these foods but I think it's good we know about it so we eat with caution. What I mean is you can reduce the rate at which they are consumed.
